After playing a father in the early primetime series Binoy Henyo, actor Luis Alandy is about to face a challenge in the acting department as he is set to play a blind person in the upcoming afternoon soap Innamorata.

It is also his first time to be paired with Kapuso actress Max Collins, who plays the lead role, Esperanza.

In an interview during the show's story conference, Luis admits that he is excited to start taping, and is looking forward to sharing the screen with Max. The two have done some regional shows together in the past but this is the first time that they will work together in a TV project.

Since this role is unfamiliar territory to him, how is he preparing for it?

"I'm studying right now kung paano maging bulag. Pinapanood ko, nire-research ko. Andami kong kailangang i-practice at pag-aralan kasi ang pagiging blind, hindi siya 'yung usual na character. Kailangan sensitive ka with your surroundings na hindi mo nakikita," he explains.

The challenge doesn't end there though, as their love story will revolve on the flaws of his and Max's character, a woman with an unusual skin problem.

With a project to start his 2014, does he have any New Year's resolution?

"Siguro less injury for the year. Marami kasi akong injury last year. Kahapon, ayan, may black eye na ako. Less injury pero at the start of the year mayroon na kaagad (laughs)," he says, while pointing at his left eye.

Innamorata premieres this February on GMA Afternoon Prime, starring Max Collins, Luis Alandy, Jackie Rice, Gwen Zamora and Dion Ignacio.
